White Rubber Coated Fiberglass "Tacky Cloth" Tadpole Gaskets

This high temperature and heat resistant tadpole tape is made from Tuff-Flex™ 550 Fabric tacky cloth.
This is a widely used tadpole tape that provides a resilient and non-absorbent gasket material for service against steam, air, water and gases.
Especially useful where a rough or uneven surface or flange exists. The fabric is a fiberglass base with a special white rubber formulation. The fabric is tacky, and has a plastic film surface covering that is removed before installation. Accidental contact of the tacky surfaces with each-other can be pulled apart, however a forceful contact will result in a bond difficult to seperate.
Wire Inserted Version: The fill (widthwise) yarn for this version of the fabric has a twisted brass wired formed with it, providing additional strength, dimensional stability and electrical conductivity/shielding and anti-static properties.
The tail of the tadpole is usually fastened by using metal fasteners, or by using a grab strip to hold the tail in place by compression. Tadpoles are often used on boilers, ovens, autoclaves and furnaces where they provide a seal by the door or access panel resting on the bulb. Also used on butterfly valves to provide sealing.

- Tadpole Gasket Bulb diameters: 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1".
- Tadpole Gasket Standard lengths: 50 and 100 feet. Custom by-the-foot lengths also available.
Curing of the rubber is not as critical usually in tadpole applications, as the compression forces are generally much lower than in high compression flange gasket applications.
