How to Install Commercial Kitchen Ductwork Gasket Seal Tape

Clean the surfaces, removing any old gasket tape and sealant
Apply a bead of sealant on the metal surface, approximately 1/4" bead
Use a putty knife or similar object to spread the sealant evenly over the surface of the flange
Apply the gasket tape to the sealant - press down
The duct component can be handled and the tape will remain in place
Time permitting, allow the sealant to cure so it is just tacky.
Apply sealant to the mating surface of the duct component
Apply an additional bead to the inner edge of the flange before joining the sections
Assemble and tighten the flange stud hardware
