Tadpole Tape Gasket Seals - Summary
Tadpole tape gasket seals are used in a variety of sealing and gasketing applications. They offer easy mounting - the tail can be held in place with grab bars or strips, mechanical fasteners with backing washers, or in some applications adhesively.
Summary of most popular available types. Custom shapes available.

Aramid Polyamide Tadpole Gasket Seal Tape
320°F / 160°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
This high temperature, heat and flame resistant aramid fabric will withstand temperatures of 320°F / 160°C continuous exposure. The base fabric is high strength aramid. The core is available as aramid rope, stainless steel mesh rope or inconel mesh rope.
Soft PTFE Coated Fiberglass Tadpole Gasket & Tape
550°F / 287°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
This high temperature, heat resistant and chemical resistant tadpole gasket tape offers the advantage of a non-asbestos material with a higher temperature range and with excellent resistance to almost all solvents, caustics and acids.
The base fiberglass fabric is rated to 1000°F / 537°C while the PTFE coating melting point is 620°F / 327°C.

ePTFE (expanded PTFE) Tadpole Gasket Tapes
550°F / 287°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
Pure ePTFE tape formed into a tadpole gasket tape with either a rope core or stainless steel mesh core. Excellent corrosion resistance, high pressure resistance, easy to use, soft and is ideal for enamel, glass, and especially rough and special shaped sealing.
This ePTFE tadpole tape provides excellent resistance to almost all solvents, caustics and acids. PTFE melting point is 620°F / 327°C.

White Rubber Coated Fiberglass "Tacky Cloth" Tadpole Gaskets
550°F / 287°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
This high temperature and heat resistant tadpole tape is made from Tuff-Flex™ 550 Fabric tacky cloth.
This is a widely used tadpole tape that provides a resilient and non-absorbent gasket material for service against steam, air, water and gases.

Precision Fiberglass Tadpole Gasket with High Compression Stainless Steel Knit Hollow Sleeve Core
1100°F / 593°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
These high temperature, heat & flame resistant and thermal insulating precision fiberglass tadpole tapes are fabricated with high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 1200°F / 648°C. Commonly used as a gasket or seal for access doors and gate valves and other oven and stove applications
This tadpole is precision manufactured resulting in extremely tight tolerances and repeatability of its dimensions between production runs The outer fiberglass cover is heat treated resulting in no loose fibers, making this tadpole suitable for clean room and paint booth applications.

Fiberglass Tadpole Gasket with Rope Core or Stainless Steel / Inconel Metal Mesh Bulb Core
1100°F / 593°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
These high temperature, heat & flame resistant and thermal insulating fiberglass tadpole gasket tapes are fabricated with high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 1200°F / 648°C.

Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Tadpole Gasket Tape
1350°F / 732°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
FlameShield™ 1500 vermiculite coated fiberglass tadpole gasket tape is a high temperature, heat and flame resistant tadpole that withstand temperatures of 1500°F / 815°C continuous exposure. The base High Temperature fiberglass fabric is fabricated from high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn. The fabric is then coated with a vermiculite dispersant.

Silica Tadpole Gasket Seal: Extreme High Temperature, Heat & Flame Resistant
1900°F / 1037°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
InSilMax Silica Tadpole gasket seal tapes for extreme high temperatures are fabricated with high Silica fabric that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 1900°F / 1037°C. Heat and flame resistant.

Ceramic Fiber Tadpole Tape Gasket Seal
2000°F / 1093°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
CerMax Ceramic fiber tadpole gasket seal tapes are fabricated with ceramic fabric and rope materials that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 2000°F / 1093°C. The bulb of the tadpole may also be fabricated with stainless steel mesh rope or inconel mesh rope.
