High temperature heat and flame resistant tapes are used as gaskets, and as thermal insulation, on hoses, pipes, tubes, wiring and cables. Tapes can be used when sleeves cannot, and can be installed without disconnecting the ends of the hose, pipe, tube, cable, etc.
Tapes can also be over-wrapped or multi-layered in order to increase the insulation value or protection level. Some coated tapes and specialized tapes provide excellent protection from welding slag and molten metal splash.
