Self-Amalgamating Self-Vulcanizing Self-Fusing "Cold Shrink" Magic Tape; Silicone Rubber and EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber)
Two types of tape are considered Self-Amalgamating, Self-Vulcanizing or Self-Fusing: Silicone Rubber and Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR).
These tapes are used in a variety of applications, commonly to seal electrical connections and hose protection sleeves, and also to fabricate custom sized bushings on clamps and connector backshells.
Silicone rubber tapes have a higher operational temperature range than EPR tapes.
