ProSil and ProSilWire Silica-Fiberglass Blended Tadpole Gasket Tape
1350°F / 732°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent
ProSil fabric tadpole tape remains soft and workable at temperatures where plain fiberglass materials become brittle. ProSilWire adds a stainless steel wire reinforcement within the fabric weave for additional dimensional stability and hot spot dispersion.
This high temperature, heat and flame resistant tadpole gasket sealing tape will withstand temperatures of 1350°F / 732°C continuous exposure.
The tail of the tadpole is usually fastened by using metal fasteners, or by using a grab strip to hold the tail in place by compression. Tadpoles are often used on boilers, ovens, and furnaces where they provide a seal by the door or access panel resting on the bulb. Also used on butterfly valves to provide sealing.
This material resists most acids and alkalis and is unaffected by most bleaches and solvents. It is highly flexible and conformable.
The bulb material can be Rope or Inconel Mesh. The metal mesh bulb has better puchback and less compression set than the rope bulb.
- Tadpole Tape Available Widths (Over-All Width): 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4, 2, 2 1/2 and 3".
- Tadpole Tape Bulb Diameters: 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1".
- Tadpole Tape Standard lengths: 50 and 100 feet. By-the-foot lengths also available.
